The winter weather is dry, making it a season with a high incidence of fire accidents. After entering December, the local smog in Xinxiang has become severe and prolonged, resulting in reduced visibility and causing significant difficulties in emergency rescue and disaster relief operations. To further consolidate and enhance the fire safety awareness of all employees in the company, improve the skills in using fire-fighting equipment, and test the emergency response capabilities of frontline production employees in fire accidents, on the morning of December 15, the company held the "Xinya Company 2016 Winter Fire Drill Competition" at the South Pound House Veneer Yard. Company Vice General Manager Zhao Rongxi, Hu Fengliang, Li Xinfang, Zhang Wei, as well as Liu Dong, Deputy Director of the County Safety Supervision Bureau, and Kou Honglei, Captain of the County Fire Brigade, attended and observed.
The reporter learned from the company's safety management department that a total of 14 teams participated in this competition, with each team consisting of 5 members. The participating units included various production branches of the company, the employee hospital, and the company fire brigade, with a total of more than 180 participants on-site for both competition and observation. The competition was divided into practical operations and theoretical examinations, with the theoretical examination taking place in the afternoon.
After intense competition, the Thermal Power Plant No. 1 and Paper Mill No. 5 emerged as the top two winners, while Paper Mill No. 6 and the Environmental Protection and Chemical Joint Team tied for third place. To recognize the outstanding performance and boost morale, the company awarded 1500 yuan, 1000 yuan, and 300 yuan to the above-mentioned winning units.
